We all fail exams from time to time. It can be quite a blow when you think about how much they cost nowadays and how much time and effort we put into passing the darn things.
If we just turn up and give it a shot, then I suppose we are taking a risk, but most of us study hard and only book the exam when we feel we are good and ready. I’ve made the “walk of shame” to get the Fail certificate from the exam invigilator a few times.
I know of two people who took the Cisco CCNA 5 times in a row and failed each time. One guy posted on a forum online, and I contacted him and coached him. He passed the next time. He just needed a better preparation strategy.
The other guy worked in a shoe store. He overheard two customers in the store chatting about computer networks. When he said he was interested in learning about them, they both looked at him and burst out laughing.
He got angry and studied hard and failed the exam five times. He finally passed on his sixth attempt. He then took his CCNP and started working for companies doing network support. He became a Cisco instructor and also worked towards his CCIE, passing his Routing and Switching and then Service Provider, making him a dual CCIE.
He now consults for a major IT service company and travels all over the USA. He’s working towards the coveted CCDE exam and is also the author of several best selling Cisco study guides, including these:
CCNP ROUTE Simplified
CCNP SWITCH Simplified
CCNP TSHOOT Simplified
101 Labs for the Cisco CCNA Exam
101 Labs for the Cisco CCNP Exam
If you haven't guessed who it is yet, he is the co-author of many of my books and my friend, Farai Tafa.
So, my advice is never give up.
Have Fun.

Hello Farai,
it’s an incredible story. I would never believe that if you did not say so.
It is true that sometime we need to look at the bigger picture and avoid to get stopped any time me make a mistake or simply fail at doing something.
Congratulations again for your talent and for encouraging people to be successful in life.
All the best, Francesco.
Thanks !

The 101 CCNA Labs is a gold mine, as well as the others you have authored. I bought them all. Your text and lab books are provide extra info, and along with books by Cisco Press are an awesome combination.
