CompTIA Data+
Video training course for the new CompTIA Data+ exam. This is an early-career data analytics certification for professionals tasked with developing and promoting data-driven business decision-making.
The importance for data analytics continues to grow. As it does, more job roles are required to set context and better communicate vital business intelligence. The data analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting on data that can drive business priorities and lead to intelligent decision-making. CompTIA Data+ validates certified professionals have the skills required to facilitate data-driven business decisions, including:
- Mining data
- Manipulating data
- Applying basic statistical methods
- Analyzing complex datasets while adhering to governance and quality standards throughout the entire data life cycle
CompTIA recommends 18–24 months of experience in a report/business analyst job role, exposure to databases and analytical tools, a basic understanding of statistics, and data visualization experience before attempting this exam but for this course, we presume no previous experience.
Typical job roles you can apply for with this certification include:
- Data Analyst
- Reporting Analyst
- Marketing Analyst
- Business Intelligence Analyst
There is currently a huge shortfall of candidates with data analysis skills and a wide variation in available job titles and responsibilities. The shortfall is ~625K job postings to be filled. There is a lack of consistency in educational program offerings and credentials (until now) and a way to standardize around a set of skills.
